1994.urtea abiapuntu izanik, nere lehenengo lanak 70. hamarkadan New York-en sortutako kultur mugimendu berri baten oinarritu ziren. Mugimendua, kolore esperimentazioak, kokalekuaren potentziala, euskarri berriak, Graffiti-aren sorkuntza.

Kultura nahasketak, sinbologia eta geometria dira ardatz nire Graffiti lanetan. Planteamentu aldaketak eta lortutako emaitzen ikasketan oinarritutzen da beti. Konstantzia irizpide izanik, pinturak eskeintzen dizkiten aukera ezberdinak ditut espresio bide.

Kalea, inspirazio zein esperimentazio gunetzat ditut. Gune ireki bat hain zuzen ere, artisten, beraien lanen eta inguruaren topaleku. Nere lana kalean garatzen dut, inguruarekin bateratasuna lortuz.

2010. urteaz geroztik, lan ildoa abstrakzioan oinarritzen da, ikusleak jasotako estimuluaren definizio pertsonalari bidea irekiz. Barne sentimentuen sorrera dut irizpide, egileak sortu eta ikusle bakoitzak intrerpretazio petsonala jasoaz. Estetika, mugimendu eta zehaztugabearen arteko elkarrizketa.

1994 es el punto de partida. Mis primeros trabajos son parte del descubrimiento de una cultura nacida en los años 70s en NY, que maraca el desarrollo de un trabajo estrechamente relacionado con el movimiento, la experimentación del color, la intensidad del espacio y los nuevos soportes, el Graffiti.

Mezclas de culturas, simbologias y geometria son el eje de mi trabajo que nace del graffiti. Un estudio y planteamiento moldeable, pero constante, sobre las posibilidades de la pintura como forma de expresión. 

La calle es fuente de experimentación e inspiración. Un espacio abierto de encuentro entre el artista, su trabajo y el entorno. Desarrollo mi pintura en la calle como forma fundamental de la propia obra. La pintura y su entorno son uno.

Desde 2010 sigo creando una linea de trabajo que posibilita encontrar en las formas abstractas, una definición "independiente" por parte del propio espectador. Pretende crear sensaciones intimas que parten del creador pero que se transforman en propias al observar mis trabajos. Un dialogo entre lo indefinido, la estética y el movimiento.

1994 is the starting point. The first works of Garikoitz C. Murua are part of a discovery, Graffiti. A culture born in the 70s in NY, which marks the development of a work closely related to movement, color experimentation, space intensity and new media.

Mixed cultures, symbols and geometry are the axis of this graffiti artist. A changing but constant study and approach to the possibilities of painting as a form of expression.

The street is a source of experimentation and inspiration. An open space of encounter between the artist, his work and the environment. Garikoitz develops his painting in the street as a fundamental form of his own work. Painting and its environment are one.

Since 2010, this artist has been creating a line of work that makes it possible to find an “independent” definition in abstract forms by the spectator himself. He aims to create intimate sensations that start from the creator, but that are transformed into the public’s own by observing his work. A dialogue between the undefined, aesthetics and movement.

Art Statement

The street has been my source of inspiration, a constant resource in the artistic expression that have developed since 1994 and still in search. I’m always looking for the transmission of sensations, interacting with the elements. The urban space is transformed with the rural environment and the encounter with nature, these are now fundamental in the composition of each new work.

The study of movement and its transformation inspire every work I do, in a new search for balance in aesthetic composition.
